BALLROOM CLASSES FOR KIDS IN DRAPER
Just a few minutes down the road from Draper lies northern Utah’s most respected ballroom dance studio for kids — Quickstep Dance. Many of our students travel long distances to attend ballroom dance classes at our studio, but Draper students are lucky because they are so nearby. In fact, we’re so close it would be a shame not to stop by with your child one day to check out our ballroom classes for kids — it may be the perfect extracurricular activity for them.
BALLROOM DANCE LESSONS ARE FUN
While dancing of any form is a discipline, our teachers make learning fun here at Quickstep. From the tiniest toddlers to the most mature high school seniors, our students thoroughly enjoy their ballroom classes at Quickstep.

Moving our bodies is not only fun, it’s necessary for physical and mental health. But sports — the most common form of exercise for children — is not for everyone. Many talented dancers dread gym class and avoid intramural sports like the plague. Our ballroom dance teachers help thousands of students get the exercise they need in a way they can enjoy it.

At the same time, they are learning valuable skills that will last a lifetime, such as poise, grace and coordination. These help tremendously with self-esteem at any age.
WHY BALLROOM DANCE CLASSES?
The child who is interested in dance has many options open to them, but ballroom dancing is a little different. Learning to dance with a partner is a skill that is rarely taught in most dancing schools, where most performances see dancers in a group, facing the audience.

In contrast, ballroom dancing is a social form of dance that necessarily incorporates skills such as working with a partner and learning to anticipate their moves. Mastering this type of dancing is less common and can help your child stand out when they’re looking at colleges.

Additionally, the years of ballroom dance lessons give students the confidence they need to stand out in a crowd, wow interviewers and feel safer and more self-assured in any situation.
BALLROOM DANCE TEAM
Not everyone has a competitive streak, and that’s OK. At Quickstep, our goal is to teach our students valuable skills while ensuring they have fun learning. However, for those who love the thrill of competition, we have a ballroom dance team.

Our ballroom dance team is by audition only, as training is rigorous and requires dedication as well as skill. Our ballroom dance team members put many hours of time and effort into their dances, and work hard to bring home ribbons, medals and trophies. Competition teaches not only hard work, but also grace when results are not as expected.
